Stayed the entire Labor Day weekend, nice spacious camp sites, very nice Rangers/Staff. A lot of rain previous week so walking paths were flooded a bit, surprisingly bugs weren't to bad. The only draw back was there is nowhere to dispose of garbage, not one dumpster.... wouldn't be difficult to have one at the Ranger station. Other then this over site, a real hidden gem.
Absolutely beautiful, peaceful and very, very clean. 7 beautiful campsites, 2 with water and electric 5 with water, very inexpensive and a new showerhouse. Miles of walking trails and forest roads.
Awesome long trails, just make sure to bring lots of water. Nice picnic areas, only saw porta potties tho.
Went on 10/15/17. Hiked a few laps around the nature trail (yellow blaze). Some ankle deep water in sections. Bring bug spray. I was going to hike fireline trail (teal blaze) but it is more of a hunt road for horse back riding. (Might be nice to trail run).
For the love of god do not follow google maps. Use the instructions on the website. Don't take Otis or any road besides pavilion. Other than that it's a great place.
